An FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) Degasser Tower is a vertically-oriented process equipment unit designed to remove dissolved gases such as carbon dioxide (CO), hydrogen sulfide (HS), or oxygen from liquids, typically water or process streams. These towers are commonly used in water treatment plants, especially in demineralization systems, boiler feedwater preparation, and other industrial applications where gas removal is critical to protect downstream equipment or improve water quality.
Constructed from corrosion-resistant fiberglass-reinforced resins (e.g., vinyl ester or epoxy), FRP degasser towers offer superior resistance to chemical attack, low weight for easier installation, and long service life even in harsh environments. The internal design typically includes a packing media that increases surface area, promoting gas-liquid contact to allow the dissolved gases to escape from the liquid stream, often with the aid of a blower or vacuum system.
Compared to metal degassers, FRP degasser towers are lighter, non-corrosive, and require less maintenance, making them highly suitable for use in chemical plants, refineries, power stations, and desalination facilities.
